I know it’s a weird topic, constipation, but the fact is that constipation is the number one cause of belly pain in children.  Many parents do not realize that their child is constipated.  They see that the child goes and sits on the toilet regularly, even for extended periods.  They ask their child,”Did you poop?” When the child says yes, the day proceeds.  What parents do not realize is that the child could have pooped just a pellet, or really had to strain, or it was difficult. Click the link below to read this month’s column in Tidewater Family to learn more about constipated kids and what you can do to help your child.

Thanks Coast live for hosting me on this informative chat on infant formula.  Of course, everyone knows breast is best, but some mothers have to return to work.  Others simply don’t make enough breast milk. Infants need breast milk or forumula until 12 months of age.  Raw or unpasteurized milk is not safe for infants or children.  Only use FDA approved commercial formula, BUT buying a store brand can save you 50%.  It’s safe and effective.
